Author Talks & School Assemblies

I tailor my assemblies to the age group of the students:

*  TK/2 - 30 minutes

*   3/4 - 45 minutes

*   5/6 -   60 minutes

All my assemblies are interactive, with student participation and time for questions and answers, as appropriate to the age group.   I begin with a bit about myself and the concept that most authors embed some of their own life experiences in their stories.  I place an emphasis on having fun with each book, encouraging the students to get to know the characters, watch for details, and determine the themes.  For upper grades, I include information about writing in rhyming verse., meter and syllabication patterns.  I encourage all age groups to find what they like to read!

I request order forms for pre-sales of my books be distributed to students/families in advance of the assemblies.  I am happy to send you a sample form that we can customize for your school.  It can then be distributed as a hard copy or electronically. in advance of the assemblies.  I bring the orders the day of the assemblies for distribution.  Any late orders are filled within a week.  Contact me for more information.
